Check walls and ceilings
Look for damp patches, peeling paint, and prior seepage repairs. Ask when waterproofing was last done.
Doors, windows, and drainage
Test window seals, balcony drainage, and bathroom floor slopes. Poor drainage causes recurring mold issues.
Electrical safety
Inspect switchboards, grounding, and external wire exposure. Monsoon moisture increases electrical hazard risk.
Document before move-in
Photograph existing defects and share with the landlord in writing to protect your deposit at exit.
